Level 5 is the highest standard drywall finish — a full skim coat applied over the entire wall surface, not just feathered over seams. It's required under high-sheen paints, in rooms with raking light, and anywhere surface imperfections would be visible. It's the standard we use on finish-quality residential work.
Systexx is a German-engineered fiberglass mesh that's installed over drywall joints and repairs before finishing. It reinforces the surface and dramatically reduces future cracking. Recommended for older homes, remodeled walls, and any area prone to movement or settling. Once painted, it's invisible.
If your walls show seams, popped nail heads, texture inconsistencies, or visible repairs — finishing before painting will significantly improve the final result. If you want a smooth flat finish for a high-sheen paint or wallcovering, Level 5 skim coat is required. We assess the surface during the estimate.
Joint compound needs 24 hours per coat minimum in South Florida's humidity, often longer. We schedule drying time into the project timeline and never paint over compound that isn't fully dry — it telegraphs through the topcoat.
Yes — texture matching on repairs is one of our core skills. We assess the existing texture type (skip trowel, knockdown, orange peel) and apply the match with the same tools and technique. Priming the repaired area first is critical — unprimed drywall absorbs texture differently.
Not always — if the walls are in good condition, painting can proceed directly. But on renovated rooms, new construction, or anywhere the surface has been disturbed, finishing first ensures the final paint result looks intentional rather than patched.
From custom finishes to full repaints — we help South Florida homeowners fall back in love with their space.
